Cooking for an entire family can be…stressful.  Between finding the time to actually prepare meals to finding ways to actually meal prep in a way that makes your life less stressful, it’s a lot for anyone.  But if we’re real with ourselves, we all know that actually taking the time to meal prep can be a huge benefit to not only ourselves but also our entire family.  It can sometimes seem like getting everyone lunch can be difficult because most of us are so focused on dinner we can forget lunch and everyone ends up eating out or at school.  We’re all about saving time, energy and money so we’ve uncovered some lunchtime meal prep ideas for the entire family to make your life easier.

Get Into A Routine
Ok, so we get it life happens and it’s sometimes really difficult to actually stick to a schedule.  But getting meal prepping in, means getting on a little bit of a schedule. A lot of people find that meal prepping on Sunday’s to be a great time to do it.  Meal prepping on Sunday’s is a great way to set you and your family up for the week ahead.  Honestly, like anything else just scheduling the time to do it works wonders and sticking to that schedule.

Plan, Plan, Plan
Obviously, part of meal prepping means you’re planning ahead.  Getting everything you need before you actually start the meal prepping process is essential.  One of the crucial must-haves for meal prepping is making sure you have enough containers for the entire family, plastic reusable containers tend to work best for meal prepping.

Choosing A Menu
The other part of planning means you need to decide what you’re actually going to be serving to the family all week.  You can do this a couple ways, some people like to just eat the same thing for lunch every day of the week and switch it up week after week to get some variety.  If that’s not really your thing, even just switching up little things like the protein you serve or veggies can be a great way to get some variety without adding too much extra work for you.  The key is choosing a menu that won’t take your entire Sunday to prepare for everyone, but still won’t leave you feeling like you’re going to get tired of eating that meal by mid-week.

Once you decide on the menu for the week, obviously you’re going to need to get the necessary ingredients.  Doing all of these steps to ensure that you have everything you need prior to actually doing it is going to help the actual prepping time go so much quicker.

Some people find that even enlisting the help of the kids or your significant other can be a great way to make the meal prep streamlined and something that gets everyone involved.  After all…the entire family’s going to be eating so they might as well get involved!
