Before you panic thinking we’re going to give you completely outlandish rules to live by, hang with us.  There are so many things in life that are these kind of unwritten rules that we all know we SHOULD do, but whether we actually do them or not is really up to us.  These rules are that way, too.  But we will say…if you want to get your skin in a pretty great place you’re going to want to start incorporating these beauty rules to live by that we’re going to share.

Always Remove Your Makeup
Listen, we get it, after a long day or big night out the last thing you really want to do is take your makeup off at night.  However, it’s a major beauty rule to live by.  Seriously, the experts and everyone isn’t just saying it for their health…it’s really THAT important.  Our skin (and therefore makeup) is exposed to a lot of different environmental factors throughout the day so when we go to sleep with all that on, we’re trapping our skin with all of this oil, grime and dirt that our skin and makeup is exposed to throughout the day.  Not to mention, your skin isn’t getting a chance to really breathe when you leave your makeup on all night after wearing it all day.  Do yourself a favor and start living by this one, for real.

Protect Your Skin From The Sun…All The Time
You’ve heard everyone talking about how hard the sun is on your skin, and that’s because it really is rough on your skin.  It’s said that sun damage is one of the leading causes of premature aging (yikes, right?).  Start getting really serious about your sun protection routine.  Apply sunscreen to your skin daily, yes, that means even in the winter months AND on cloudy days.  It’s a major beauty rule to live by because it’s become such a prominent skin care concern for so many.

Be Gentle On Your Eyes
Ok, so here’s the thing…all of the skin on your body is not created equal.  The skin on your lips is much different than the skin around your eyes.  In fact, the skin around your eyes is INCREDIBLY delicate.  Therefore, it requires extra TLC from you.  One of the biggest mistakes people make with the skin around their eyes is being too rough.  Many believe that the skin around your eyes is one of the first places to show signs of aging, so start being gentler on the skin in that area and cater to its delicate nature.

Use Products For Your Skin Type
Many people believe skin care products are created to work for anyone, but that’s just not the case.  It’s incredibly important to make sure that whatever skin care products you use are designed to really work with your skin type.  Using products that aren’t designed to work with your skin type can actually cause you to have the reverse results you’re looking for.
